Overview
It is very important for the coach to know whether swimmers will be able to swim in each meet. The coach must prepare entries in advance of the meets, and swimmers will be added to line ups based on swimmer availability and swimmer times. Coach Marissa sets the line-up and they will be posted on SwimTopia each week. Especially for A meets, which are scored, if a swimmer does not show up, we could have an empty lane that another swimmer could have competed in and we could lose points. It is very important to update your swimmer's attendance each week so coaches and reps know if swimmers are attending or not attending each meet. If your plans change after you have declared a swimmer attending or not attending, please let the coach know as soon as possible.
A Meets: These are Robin Hood's competitive swim meets against other teams in our division which occur Saturday mornings. Teams can only have a certain number of swimmers in A meets each week, so not all swimmers will swim in A-meets. The coach picks who will swim and what event they will be in each week, and will need everyone's availability updated by Wednesday at 12:00 pm so the A meet line-up can be set and available by Thursday.
B Meets: These meets occur Wednesday evenings and are a lot of fun swimming against pools nearby to Robin Hood. All swimmers can swim in B meets each week. The coach will need everyone's availability updated by Sunday at 12:00 pm so the B meet line-up can be set and available before the meet and we don't have heats with lots of empty lanes.
***You must declare your swimmer as "Available For" or "Not Available For" every A and B meet date. If you can, please do it at the time of registration for the entire swim season***
A Meet Signups
- Under the Meets & Events tab, select "Signup Calendar" to sign up for a swim meet.
- Click the green MEET ENTRY button next to the Meet.
- You will see a list of athletes associated with your account.
- Click Edit to add or change their attendance.
- For each athlete, select if they will be available for the meet.
- Once complete, remember to "SAVE".
B Meet Signups
Follow the signup procedures above for an A meet. Parents do not need to select/suggest events anymore.
In addition to marking attendance, you can suggest the events your child would like to swim. You should have the option of selecting up to 3 individual events plus the Individual Medley.
Please save your selections.
Volunteer Signup
When you are selecting your young swimmer's availability, you will also see a banner reminding you to sign-up for one of the available shifts for the meet.
It should be straight-forward how to select a shift.
If you want to change your volunteer sign-up, from the meet list, you can also click the Job Signup Button.
